Goals for 2018

Rock Hill Wedding Photographer's Goals 2018

It's the last week of 2017! My holiday schedule is slowing down and I am looking forward to bringing in the new year!

I stopped making New Year resolutions a long time ago when I realized most of them never got done after the first month, but I do like making a list of realistic goals for the new year and seeing how many of them have been completed the following December.

This year I took some time to sit down and reflect on 2017. A lot changed for me this year. I officially started my business in January. I graduated from college in May. Now that 2017 is coming to an end I can't help but look back over this year and reflect on how different life is from this time last year! Over the span of the last 365 days, I've had to learn to let go of a lot of things I was holding on to. If you were to look at the place my feet are planted now, and the opportunities the Lord has provided for me and ask me if I saw it coming a year ago....  heck even 4 months ago... I probably would have laughed. My plans for post-college life have looked surprisingly different than how life has actually panned out. Yet, I know the Lord's sovereign hand has been through it all, orchestrating it before it ever came to fruition.

For 2018 I divided my goals into 5 categories; faith, health, business, financial, and academic. Some of them are still broad. I've found that keeping my goals open to life change and God's plan is more successful than sticking to a strict list. Here they are.

2018 Goals:

Word of the Year: {Rooted}

  • Read the whole bible in a year

  • Complete another round of Whole30
  • Get moving 3-4 times a week

  • Create systems that work for me to help me grow

  • Read something for at least 20 minutes a day.

Financial Goals:

  • Read "Total Money Makeover" and totally make over my money.... see what I did there.
  • Stick to the budget

Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. He alone is my rock & my salvation - my fortress where I won’t be shaken.
— Psalm 62:5-6
