Why you should hire a professional wedding photographer for your wedding day.

In a day and age where quality digital cameras are affordable, you might be asking why you should hire a professional photographer. Every bride wants to save money on their wedding day. Why budget for a professional photographer?

Think about the last 8 or so months of your life. If you are planning a wedding, then you've probably spent countless hours ( and money!) picking our color schemes, flowers, dresses, decor, and cake. You've been dreaming of this day since you were little. Now imagine with me the day of your wedding. Your dress is on. The doors open. Your groom is standing there with the biggest smile on his face. You are pronounced husband and wife. The reception happens and you leave.

The flowers will eventually die, the cake gets eaten, the guest will leave, and your venue is cleaned up for the next wedding.  All of the sudden your special, meaningful day is over in the blink of an eye. After your wedding day, all that will remain are you, your new husband, and your photographs. Your photographs will become a tangible reminder for you and your spouse of a life changing day.

This is why I am so passionate about wedding photography. I'm not in the business of selling products to make money. Don't get me wrong, I need to pay the bills and make a living but I want to create an experience for each of my brides that will add to their wedding day and add to their life after the wedding day is over. I want to give them classic timeless reminders of their commitment that will last a lifetime.

I've heard from countless family friends that their only regret on their wedding day was not budgeting for a quality photographer. This is why I think hiring a professional to do the job is worth the investment. You will want the moments that count documented.

On Thursday, I will be sharing on the blog two things I think are MOST important to look for when trying to find a photographer that is right for you.
